Imagesbazaar.com today is the world’s most extensive collection of Indian images & videos. A brainchild of Sandeep Maheshwari, who in himself is a brand today. They wanted a platform that could help them sell photos online with ease. Permissions included creating categories, managing keywords, defining variations of keywords (tagged images as women should also be automatically tagged with a girl, lady, female), and automating the delivery of images in different sizes for B2B purchases.
The Challenge we had
We started working with Imagesbazaar.com in 2006. They came to us with a problem of a sluggish search which was leading to loss of business. At that time, the database size was not that big, and they had a small collection, but the database design was limiting their growth.
Improvising search speed and then developing other value-added features was the main requirement of the business at that time.
The Resolution
We remodeled the whole solution and made sure that the search results came in less than 7 seconds. As of date today, Imagesbazaar is the world’s most extensive collection of Indian images & videos, with more than 1 million images & video’s that they sell online.
